The Tiered Standard plan applies to borrowers who take out a new federal loan on or after July 1, 2026. Your report covers every plan and lists the criteria each one sets out.

Frequently asked questions

Why pay for Clevara when StudentAid.gov has a free calculator?

StudentAid.gov provides a free Repayment Calculator and free federal program information. Clevara charges $39 once for an organized comparison report with assumptions and a printable copy. The fee does not pay for an application, enrollment, loan servicing or a plan change. You can inspect the sample before deciding whether that format is useful to you.

Is my loan data uploaded?

No. Your loan file and questionnaire answers are processed in your browser. Stripe receives checkout details, including any email you enter. Saved reports stay in this browser and can be deleted from Privacy.

What file do I need?

The “Download My Aid Data” file (previously “MyStudentData”) from studentaid.gov — a plain-text .txt export, not a servicer PDF or a screenshot. The how-to page walks through it.

Is this financial or legal advice?

No. Clevara displays program criteria next to the information you provide; it does not make eligibility determinations or recommendations. We can help you find information in your report and define terms. We cannot assess eligibility, recommend programs, or advise on next steps.

What changed on July 1, 2026?

RAP and Tiered Standard became part of the repayment menu. Older plans have separate loan-type, date and enrollment conditions, including a transition away from PAYE and ICR by July 2028. The Department of Education and your servicer confirm your actual enrollment options.

Can I use it for someone else’s loans?

Yes — the analysis runs on whichever “Download My Aid Data” file you upload.

What about refunds?

If the report fails to generate, your purchase is refunded in full. Once it has generated and been delivered, the sale is final.
